Chinmaya for YOUth

Chinmaya Thunders!

  • The youth of today have to be the very process of rebuilding the nation.
  • When I take a decision to win or lose, I always win. If the decision is correct, OK; but if not, I do not waste my energies by despairing over it
  • Never before the world needed such dynamism as today; and our country needs it most. Your future job is to uplift the country, revitalize and make it a nation.
  • Study of the scriptures should not be given up at all-that is the secret fuel that must fire up our enthusiasm, and inspire us to sacrifice and service.
  • You have seized to grow. You are stunted. You have become lilliputs. You have to grow. Our’s is not a mere ‘youth movement’. It is a Rishi movement. Cultural revival is our goal. Study is unavoidable. It is about quality, not mass movement.
  • Let the actions, words, behavior even the demeanor of the Mission members declare that you are a class apart-brilliant in your aspirations, clean in your thoughts, irreproachable to the baser instincts and pulls of social living.
  • Be a reporter. Learn to interview people, report what you have learnt, develop friendship.
  • Team spirit must be encouraged more, the spirit of pursuit intensified; every aspect of our new programme closely observed, studied and discussed in order to evolve better handing, to yield more benefits for the community.
  • Coming together is a beginning, being together and working together is progress. But working together jointly, sacrificing selfishness in the yagna spirit leads to success.
  • Youth must look ahead; Youth alone can dare to look ahead. The old will tend to look back and live in memories. The youth is ever full of aspirations, hopes, plans to build a new world to fit in their demands in life.
  • Try to be independent and self employed. Work purifies the body and the soul. As Chyksters, help yourself and others. This way if you start earning, you will not have to compromise with the ideals. If not nursery schools, any tutorial class or typing institutes, sewing class or printing press-even the barbers shop will do! Even if you open Chinmaya Barber’s shop, I will not mind!
  • Take up any creative work. Do exercises, regulate your life and develop physical health.
  • You Chyks are now our only hope. When the younger generation comes to feel inspired by a programme of revival, it gathers momentum and floods the heart of that generation with a new spirit of courage and good-will.
  • Work together as a team with one single goal to be reached. When each member rises above his own personal selfishness and works in the world, it brings harmony and expresses dynamism of togetherness.
  • If one Gandhi could inspire so many at that time, our CHYK members can inspire the youth. Living the life of self-respect and self-confidence, proud for their country and prepared to work to rebuild it with heads held above the clouds and hands and legs ready to make sacrifices and work, that is sufficient.
  • Our simple CHYK members alone have the vision, the understanding, and the readiness to make sacrifices if only they take it up.
  • Remember! One Buddha created the change, One Jesus, One Mohammed could bring about great changes: so always One! They were daring and uncompromising. Today, that kind of man-a genius- may not be able to achieve all alone. Never mind! We will cooperate with ten, twenty, fifty persons living that life. Let us see whether they have the same vitality and strength of one Prophet, one Saint, Sage that again and again appear from time. Let the kids watch the changes that take place. Read, study and translate!
  • Change is the secret! All progress is change! Try to change!
