Guru

The sacred knowledge of the scriptures was handed down from Guru to disciple in the distant days of unknown human history and stored in the memory of both, and along the avenue of time the teaching descended this way, from generation to generation upto Sri Veda Vyasa – the Poer-Seer.

  • With great foresight, Vyasa recorded the knowledge in written form and saved it from the danger of extinction. It was indeed Veda Vyasa, with whom the renaissance of the Guru Parampara began….
  • However, this knowledge would have been lost in vain philosophical symposiums, had it not been for Adi Shankaracharya, The Spiritual General, who took upon himself the great responsibility of reasserting the true import of the great Hindu scriptures, making it sink deep into the psyche of this country.

The champions brought up by this Guru Parampara are many. In India, so vast is the army of these sacred leaders with missionary zeal, that it may not be possible for anyone to list them all out. However, along with a tribute to Bhagavan Veda Vyasa and Bhagavan Adi Shankaracharya, we mention short biographical accounts of…

  • Our Param Guru Pujya Swami Tapovanji Maharaj, who was one of the greatest and most well-known Vedantin of His time.
  • H.H.Swami Shivananda, who initiated Pujya Gurudev into Sanyas, and who was himself a great visionary and a great Missionary.
  • Our Param Pujya Gurudev H.H.Swami Chinmayananda who brought down the great Vedantic knowledge from the heights of the quiet Himalayas into the humdrum lives of the masses all over the world.
  • Pujya Guruji H.H.Swami Tejomayananda, through whom this sacred knowledge continues to flow with the same grace and glory into the present generation...
